Mini digger catches fire while being used on roadworks

Fire crews from Douglas were called into action this afternoon when a mini digger caught light while being used on the roadworks at Top Road, Crosby.

Firefighters attended the scene shortly after 3pm and put the blaze out while wearing breathing apparatus and using high pressure hose reels.

The two crews remained on scene for around 45 minutes to dampen down the area and ensure the vehicle was safe.
