Ed Force One brings classic metal back to the Amber stage

in Entertainment

Head over to Amber in Douglas tomorrow (Saturday) and you’ll find the Isle of Man’s only Iron Maiden tribute band, Ed Force One in action.

Their set list is made up for the most part of tracks from the earlier era of Maiden’s career .

These include the likes of The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Aces High, Two Minutes To Midnight, The Number Of The Beast, Fear Of The Dark, Powerslave and The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner amongst many others.

The doors for this free gig open at 8pm and the band hit the stage from 9.30pm for a two and a half hour set.

If you head next door to Jaks on Saturday night you’ll find The Chris Winchester Band in residence at one of their now regular appearances at the venue.

The band that features a line-up completed by Chris Winchester on guitar and vocals, Paul Tonks on keys and vocals, Pete Dixon on bass and vocals and Andy James on drums play a set that features contemporary acoustic covers from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Coldplay amongst many others.

’Lost Dogs’ is a new Pearl Jam tribute band, whose line-up features John Cleator on vocals, Dick Raine on bass, Kev Cleator and Alex Duke sharing guitar duties and Johnny Peacock on drums, look to be delving deep into the Pearl Jam back catalogue.

Without giving too much of the setlist away, expect the likes of Even Flow, Jeremy, Betterman, Rearviewmirror and Given To Fly amongst a fairly wide sweep across the various Pearl Jam albums.

Indeed, you can get right up close and personal when the band plays its debut show next Saturday, at The Railway in Port St Mary.
